Photography is another way to express my creativity, the scenes that surrounds us everyday brings a lot of artistic opportunities. I love making photographs, as much as I love designing jewellery, the story in a scene faithfully captured in the frame. Creating photographs is my way to unwind and enjoy the beauty that's around us, a way to appreciate life. As a fine art photographer I take pride on my photographs, I create the best photographs I can. Fine art photography is such a niche that I have to make sure that my images would be the best they can possibly be. I have to please the greatest critique of all..myself, then I have to present it to art galleries that represent my artworks to get their input. I have to create riveting images that would make someone want it for their walls, an image that can spark a conversation or stir certain emotions.
DGZphotos Gallery is a collection of my fine art photographs that I've created through my photographic journey, it's a personal collection that is cherished by my dear friends and relatives. I received a few recognitions and various compliments for some of my photographs and been very blessed to be published along side seasoned professionals in the industry, through Destination Winnipeg's "Picture Winnipeg" photo contests. Photography for me is pure passion and a never ending learning experience, being involved in this artform only since 2006 has been quite FUN. With various different accomplishments in these early years gives me the willingness to pursue it further to create more and more exciting images to share.
These six cover photos represents the albums in my DGZphotos Gallery, which includes two Winnipeg Albums, two Travel Albums, Artsy, Flowers, Portraits, Products, Animals, Skyshots and my personal favorite the Lowlights Album. I do have my flickr display to view my more recent images, I've uploaded all my recent images on my Flickr gallery to preserve more web space for my designs. The DGZphotos gallery on this website is a taste of my artistic flare in photography, these may be my all time faves of the thousands of images I've created so far.
Some of these photographs are published in the local tourism campaign materials for Destination Winnipeg through their "Picture Winnipeg" photo contest, some are featured at various local art galleries here in Winnipeg and a lot of them hang on my own walls. Winnipeg
DGZstudios is Winnipeg based and what a gorgeous place to be located. Cold yet always picturesque even when it's covered in snow most of the year and when the snow melts its even more stunning. Winnipeg is also precisely located for Manitoba photographic locations, Winnipeg Beach, Gimli, Riding Mountain National Park, The Wasagaming area and the nearby Ontario destinations, Kenora and Rushing River.
The city of Winnipeg offers a lot of photographic opportunities in the city proper and all the nearby areas around it.

Travels
Part of the fun in photography is exploring new photographic locations, to travel and see new places. I haven't exactly toured the world but I am very lucky to get to the places I've photographed, Banff,Alberta and Victoria,B.C. are such gorgeous places.
Calgary, Alberta, Seattle, Washington, and other Canadian destinations such as Whistler, B.C., are featured in my two Travel albums. I love to travel but the time to do so is a bit limited, so I go places when I can and bring home with me fun memories and gorgeous photographs.

Lowlights
Lowlights is my first love in photography, where long exposures create such magnificent images. Light is the key in creating a photograph, the lack of it is the fun challenge in lowlight photography. A fair amount of my shots are taken handheld or the camera braced to a wall, since I hate carrying a tripod.

Animals
I hope you love animals as much as I do, a section in my gallery is dedicated for my animal shots. It's always fun but yet sometimes just as frustrating, trying to capture that exact moment. There are shots that would take a few angles and a lot of patience since these subjects barely pose, it could take awhile to get these stunning photographs.
Portraits
Artistry in portraiture is a challenge in itself, to make the model pop out of the frame and add creative flare. To be able to interact with the model to be able to realize a concept is always fun. The blend of lighting and the personality of the model is conveyed in the usual fashion I create my gallery exhibition artworks. These are truly an epitome of personalized artworks.
Fine Art Weddings
Photojournalistic Fine Art is the only description Dodgie's people photography fits in. The necessity of photojournalism to capture the event unfold yet combined with his unusual attention to details to be able to stir some emotions same way his gallery pieces do to art collectors.
